Dial up is the most traditional and in fact oldest of all the internet services available today which makes use of a modem or a simple adapter along with a permanent telephone line to purvey you the internet access. Modem is nothing but a modulating demodulator. The major work of this modem is to convert the computer data into transmission signals and to send these signals to remote Internet Service Provider (ISP) via voice line or telephone line. This dial up connection refers to the narrowband service. While being connected with the narrowband, you cannot be able to receive telephone calls from your landline. The charge for this dial up connection depends on your local telephone operator which varies with your dialed numbers.

The narrowband dialup is the slowest form of internet access and the probability of interference is extremely high. The expected downstream speed is just 56 kbps and the upstream speed is 48 kbps. Only competent fact is that you can be able to plug the modem with any telephone line in case of failover of your current internet service. This is the only flexible aspect of this narrowband dialup connection.

But with 56 kbps, even a modem web page will take almost a minute to get loaded. So, it will irritate the users to the core while browsing. By making use of server-side compression, some UK ISPs enhance the speed of connectivity which has shown positive results. But no such speed deployment is absorbed in case of pre-compressed files and images. In order to improve the performance, users can also use certain applications which are exclusively for compression purposes (like on speed) and caches of web browsers.

To overcome the disadvantages of this narrow dial up, most popular and competent form of broadband called DSL has been introduced. DSL too makes use of your telephone lines but the internet speed is comparatively faster (ADSL - 8 Mbps, ADSL2+ - 24 Mbps and VDSL2 – 60 Mbps). So, obviously the number of people using narrowband dial up got minimized.

There must be only two reasons behind the people who are using this narrowband. Either they should be unaware of the broadband facility or they are not comfortable with the cost of broadband connection. The cost of narrow band is only half of the broadband cost. Though we associate the term narrowband with the dial up connection, the actual transmission rate of any connectivity about 1.54 Mbps is considered as narrowband. This rate is comparatively faster than the traditional dialup. When the speed of cable broadband is too low, we can consider this as narrowband connectivity. But the traditional definition of narrowband is actually the connection in which the frequencies are supposed to carry voice grade communication.

With the decadent number of users, the narrowband dialup would be found nowhere in future. The speed of the slowest broadband is in fact five to six times faster than the narrowband speed. The cheaper cost of broadband connectivity is yet another reason behind the decline of narrowband. Hence, to the modern internet users, narrowband is not capable of satisfying their needs and requirements. compare Business Broadband providers, Unlimited broadband, broadband bundles and mobile broadband packages at broadband comparison website.

LCD screens in recent years as technology has developed so that the price has dropped. Consequently LCD (liquid Crystal Display) technology has completely overhauled CRT (cathode Ray Tube) screens that are now obsolete. As a result, screen and TV screens have never been cheaper and applications for the LCD appears to be growing at an increasing rate.

Digital signage seems to be the next media revolution with LCD and found their way almost everywhere now the LCD is now the first concourses, colleges, schools, high streets, retail units, airports, railway stations, hospitals, factories and pharmacies .
